The part is designed to help solve the problems that arise with covers for both stock tank pools and regular above ground pools. Typically, when using a cover with these types of pools to keep leaves, dust, and debris out, the cover fills with water when it rains. This makes it very difficult to get the cover off the pool without dumping the rain water and all the debris that collected on top of the cover into the pool when you go to remove the cover to use the pool.
This part enables you to build a circular pool cover frame with 8 spokes and a 20 degree slope, much like an umbrella. To do this, you will use 3/4" schedule 40 PVC for the 8 spokes and 3/4" schedule 80 PVC for the circular perimeter (thin schedule 80 PVC will bend to the necessary curve more easily.) This makes rain water run off the cover and over the side of the pool, eliminating that critical water collection issue.
Due to the many different sizes, makes, and models of pools, this is intended to be the key enabling part to a DIY project. This means you will have to purchase the remaining necessary PVC piping, fittings, glue, stainless hardware, pool cover, and potentially a trampoline cover to provide a support between the spokes for the pool cover. Remember, this is just part of the puzzle. It's up to you to figure out how to make it work best for your situation.
